Lampasas council approves bank depository, server purchase, life-jacket grant and other routine items

During the Oct. 27 regular session, council approved a five-year depository agreement with Cadence, authorized purchase of replacement servers from Dell, accepted a 100‑life‑jacket award from a U.S. Coast Guard–linked foundation, authorized submission of a QRFit grant application, and approved a 36‑month lease‑purchase for turf equipment.
The Lampasas City Council approved several routine financial, procurement and grant items on Oct. 27.
Depository: Staff recommended a five-year depository contract with Cadence (the only bidder after solicitation of local banks and advertisement). Council moved and approved the contract for the period beginning Dec. 1, 2025 through Nov. 30, 2030.
IT servers: Staff asked council to approve purchase of four replacement Dell servers with three years of pro support under an existing DIR contract. Staff said purchasing in October saved approximately $10,655 versus budgeted figures and recommended a total payment of approximately $71,560. Council approved the purchase.
Life-jacket grant: Parks staff reported the city had been awarded a US Life Jacket Grant (in conjunction with the U.S. Coast Guard) to receive 100 life jackets and informational materials for pool and public-water use. Council authorized the city manager to accept and execute the required documents and directed staff to manage quarterly reporting on usage and condition.
QRFit grant application: Staff requested approval to submit a Texas Parks & Wildlife QRFit grant application (approximately $10,500) to install QR-coded exercise stations along the 580 hike-and-bike trail; council approved filing the application. The grant was described as a one-year award with a renewable maintenance arrangement.
Equipment lease-purchase: Council approved a 36-month lease-purchase to acquire three turf units (a 2020 John Deere fairway mower, a 2020 John Deere 1550 with 72" deck and a used progressive batwing mower) and authorized the city manager to execute documents. Staff said acquiring the used demo batwing and buying out leased units would reduce long-term cost and maintain needed four-wheel-drive capacity for steep areas.
