The seller increased the asking price since 2022 after the city declined to commit to a park on the parcel; staff said the current $170,000 price reflects that change and is below current comparables for developable land in the area.
Council discussed site conditions, including wetlands, and timing. Staff said the city is awaiting construction authorization from the Public Service Commission and, if authorized, expects to break ground in 2026. A motion to approve the purchase was made, seconded and carried on roll call.
