City Manager Martie Brown told the council that the rehabilitation of five sewer lift stations funded by the city's 2021 sewage bond is reaching completion and that the city will hold a ribbon‑cutting and SCADA demonstration at the Sycamore Street lift station on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 11:30 a.m.
Brown said the celebration will include a demonstration of the new SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system that allows remote monitoring of the sewer system and a city‑organized geocaching activity that will guide visitors to the other rehabilitated stations. The work closes out the bond program approved in December 2021, Brown said.
On personnel, Brown announced that Finance Director Joanne Moore tendered her resignation; her last day with the city will be Friday, Nov. 21. Brown said Moore will move to Colusa to become assistant city manager. Brown thanked Moore for stabilizing the finance department, completing the Tyler system transition and launching the business‑license portal before her departure.
Councilmembers offered congratulations and thanks to Moore for her work onboarding new finance staff and reorganizing department processes.
