Third Future presents quarterly update on Mendez; trustees request consolidated performance metrics

Representatives of Third Future and Mendez presented a quarterly update on Oct. 30 under the district’s 1882 operations agreement. The presentation included artifacts and outreach examples; trustees said the packet contained useful materials but asked for consolidated, itemized performance data tied directly to the contract criteria.

Zach Craddock (Third Future) and Mendez principal Elizabeth Mitton answered trustees’ clarifying questions. Trustee Willie Chiu asked how many students were enrolled in Algebra I at Mendez; staff responded that Mendez has not offered Algebra I in eighth grade since Third Future took over operations in 2022. Trustees asked for three years of NWA data, a district summary report and details on participation rates; Third Future said a district data analyst would provide outstanding items next week.

Trustees said they wanted a concise, contract-focused report the public can review that indicates how the partner has performed on each contract criterion. Third Future committed to providing the missing data and noted recent school events and back-to-school engagement artifacts included in the presentation.
