Orange City council names three Good Citizenship award recipients for third quarter

The City of Orange City council on Oct. 14 approved the Good Citizenship award nominations for the third quarter, selecting Narada H. Williamson, Leah Brooks and Sharon Stafford.
Interim City Manager Christine Davis presented three nominations and described each nominee's contributions: Williamson for weekly neighborhood cleanups, assistance with community information and helping neighbors navigate housing and civic processes; Brooks for leadership on native-plant and pollinator gardens and volunteer-driven environmental stewardship; and Sharon Stafford for founding Everybody Is Somebody Inc., which provides youth development programs.
Councilmember motion to select all three nominees passed on a voice/roll-call vote and staff said recipients will be invited to the Nov. 12 council meeting for formal presentation.
No council member raised a conflict of interest that would require recusal; council discussed the potential and concluded there was no pecuniary gain requiring recusal.
