The Select Board on Nov. 27 approved the Greater Gardner Turkey Trot, a point‑to‑point road race that starts at Gardner City Hall and finishes at the American Legion in Baldwinville on Thanksgiving morning.
Assistant race director Justice Graves told the board the race typically closes parking on Central Street where runners arrive into Baldwinville Center; the organizer requested temporary no‑parking signage and cone placement for runner safety. The event uses a shuttle (Wilson Bus Company) to bring participants back to Gardner after they finish. Police and fire provided sign‑off on the event in the packet, and the board authorized the town administrator to sign the permit paperwork.
The board approved the permit by voice vote and asked the organizer to coordinate details on staging, cones and early morning setup with police for traffic control.
