County runs 'Ready Nevada County' preparedness campaign, ZoneHaven mapping and evacuation guidance

County public-safety and emergency-preparedness staff delivered Ready Nevada County and Ready-Set-Go outreach messages underscoring household wildfire-resilience steps, emergency 'go bags' and the county's new ZoneHaven neighborhood mapping tool.
Presenters explained defensible-space and home-hardening measures (fine-mesh vents, noncombustible decking, removal of ladder fuels), and recommended household planning for continuity of medical devices (CPAP, oxygen concentrators) during PSPS events, including backup batteries or generator arrangements. Ulysses Palencia from 2-1-1 described the county's role in routing information to callers during PSPS or evacuations and encouraged residents to save ZoneHaven evacuation-zone identifiers and to sign up for CodeRED alerts. Deputies and fire officials described evacuation-tag procedures and field notifications for evacuation orders.
Presentations were augmented with short public-service spots and a reminder that Ready Nevada County materials and the interactive ZoneHaven maps are available at community.zonehaven.com and through county outreach partners such as the Fire Safe Council and 2-1-1.
