The Dickenson County Board of Supervisors on Sept. 23 adopted a proclamation designating November 2025 as 'Operation Green Light for Veterans' month and urged residents and businesses to display a green light from Nov. 4–11 in recognition of transitioning service members and veterans.
A supervisor read the proclamation into the record, which praises the service of veterans, cites county and national veterans’ service activity, and encourages public recognition during the specified week. Board members also used the item to publicize a veterans breakfast the board funds on Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the room in front of the treasurer’s office and to invite veterans to attend. The proclamation and the breakfast were approved by voice vote; no financial appropriation was described in the transcript beyond the board’s customary support for the event.
