El Segundo City reminded residents that the California statewide special election on Proposition 50 is Nov. 4 and provided details on voting options and assistance.
The city said voters may drop off vote-by-mail ballots at the drop box on the corner of Main Street and Holly Avenue or vote in person at the Cambria Hotel LAX. Voting hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day leading up to Nov. 4, and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 4.
The recreation department is offering free rides to in-person polling sites for seniors through the Dial-a-Ride with Lyft program. Dial-a-Ride service runs weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended service until 7 p.m. on Nov. 4; the Joslyn Center can schedule rides at (310) 524-2705. For official information about Proposition 50 and elections, the segment directed listeners to the California Secretary of State website at s0s.ca.gov/elections.
The announcements were presented as community service information rather than a formal city action.
