APC elects leadership, appoints committees and names Sean Cline interim executive director

The St. Joseph County Area Plan Commission elected Adam Devon as chair and Tom England as vice chair, approved committee appointments and unanimously adopted a resolution appointing Sean Cline as interim executive director (Resolution 269‑25).
At the start of the meeting commissioners moved and approved electing Adam Devon as chair and Tom England as vice chair by voice vote. The commission approved a slate of plat committee members for the year, including Skye Meaders (county engineering), Hannah Parkhill (alternate), Randy James, Zach Lute (alternate, billing department), Derek Dieter, John Law (county surveyor's office), Ron Messler (Clay Fire), and Mark Espich with David Akins as the health‑department alternate.
The executive committee was set to consist of the president, vice president and one commission member; commissioners approved maintaining the previous membership with Adam Devon (president), Tom England (vice president) and Dr. Thacker as the third member.
Commissioners also confirmed DJ Tavernier and Dr. Lauck as the commission’s ABCA representatives.
On a separate motion the commission adopted Resolution 269‑25 to appoint Area Plan Commission staff member Sean Cline as interim executive director effective Feb. 22. The resolution states that while serving as interim director Cline will receive pay commensurate with the executive director position and that the APC will conduct a search for a permanent executive director. The roll call vote to approve Resolution 269‑25 was recorded in the meeting minutes as unanimous in favor.
Other routine business included approval of findings of fact for Dec. 17, 2024, and approval of meeting minutes for multiple dates after a small header correction to the December minutes. Commissioners also received the APC 2024 annual report covering petition counts, code enforcement activity and the recent adoption of the comprehensive plan in November 2024.
