The Muscle Shoals City Schools Board of Education approved a package of routine items at its regular meeting, including the agenda, prior minutes, a consent agenda containing committee appointments and activity supplements, and a personnel report listing resignations, hires and supplemental assignments.
The superintendent summarized the consent agenda and recommended approval. The consent items included the board's appointment to the sick leave bank committee, establishment of an activity supplement for Key Club, and changing the November board meeting date to Thursday, Nov. 20. The presiding officer called for a motion; trustees moved, seconded and approved the consent agenda by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
The board also approved the minutes from the Sept. 11 meeting (which included a budget hearing) and approved the personnel report. The superintendent read personnel details into the record: resignation of Rebecca Sullivan, math coach (effective Oct. 24); employment of Hannah Clement as an early childhood pre-K teacher (effective date to be determined); and multiple part-time supplemental contracts and seasonal assignments, including concessions coordinators and game staff. Several unpaid leave requests and additions to the nurse substitute list were presented as well.
For the Alabama Association of School Boards delegate assembly, trustees nominated and elected Dr. Davis as delegate and Miss Allman as alternate. Nominations were closed and the slate was approved by voice vote; the transcript records no opposing votes.
All approvals in the meeting record were by motion and voice vote; the transcript does not record roll-call tallies or the names of the motion movers and seconders for each item.
