Committee members provided brief updates on several noncontroversial items.

Bingo/lottery: Kimberly’s proposed raffle was discussed; staff explained that running a raffle or lottery through the town triggers additional legal controls and compliance requirements. Because the proposal would require extra approvals and create legal complexity, the presenter indicated she will pursue the idea privately and asked the chamber and other local partners for promotional support rather than involving town operations.

Culinary bike tour and sushi-bomb event: Committee members confirmed the culinary bite tour and associated promotions are proceeding; organizers are finalizing sponsors and vendor logistics. One committee member confirmed the invoices and W-9 forms for several performers had been collected and were ‘‘ready to go.’’

20th-anniversary event: The committee confirmed the town’s 20th-anniversary celebration is scheduled for Dec. 6 at Ben River Park; staff and volunteers will finalize program and vendor logistics in subsequent meetings.
