The Oxford Area Board of School Directors on Oct. 21 elected Bill Kloss to serve as board president and confirmed Miss Duweez as the board treasurer for the 2025-26 school year.
Nominations for a temporary presiding officer began early in the meeting. "I'd like to open nominations for a temporary president," a trustee said, after which Jim Warren was nominated, seconded and approved by voice vote to preside while the board took nominations for the permanent president.
During nominations for president, a trustee nominated Bill Fox from the floor and motioned to close nominations. The board then conducted a roll-call-style confirmation that recorded multiple affirmative votes and resulted in the election of Bill Kloss as president.
The board later considered nominations for treasurer. "Miss Louise would like to be treasurer. Does anyone else wanna be treasurer?" a trustee asked, and the board voted to appoint Miss Duweez as school board treasurer effective Oct. 21, 2025.
Board members used standard motions and voice votes for most approvals. Several members spoke during the nominations process and cast affirmative votes during roll-call confirmation for the new president.
The leadership changes take effect immediately. The board will continue regular duties under the new chair, including upcoming decisions on capital projects and policy readings.
