Resident raises alarm about proposed data center near Andrews Chapel Road

At the start of the public-comment period on Oct. 28, a resident identified only as Kevin told the Upson County Board of Commissioners he is "concerned about this data center" he said would sit across Andrews Chapel Road from his home.
Kevin described the facility as large and intrusive: "This data center is gonna go right across the road from me. It's gonna be 1,400 acres, 12,000 foot built, thousand by 200. That's a city block. There's gonna be 12 of them over there. They're gonna be lit up all night, fans running, air conditioning. Where's the water coming from?" He said neighbors are upset and complained they had not been contacted; Kevin said he had attempted earlier phone contact with Commissioner Biggs and had not received promised follow-up.
Commissioner Biggs later told the board and audience there had been no further county discussion about a data center in the area and that, if a property owner or developer proposes a project affecting nearby residents, the board could consider a town-hall-style meeting. "I can assure you that there hasn't been any more discussion about a data center. None whatsoever," Biggs said, adding that if plans materially change the county would consider public outreach.
The commissioners did not report any formal filings or zoning actions related to a data center during the meeting. Planning staff did not present any pending county applications for such a project during the public-comment period or new-business items.
