West Valley ASB reports strong homecoming participation, ticket and donation counts

Katie Champion, a senior and ASB representative from West Valley High School, delivered the student activities report at the Oct. 28 board meeting. Champion summarized homecoming week activities, traditions (Buff Puff/flag football and cheer presentations), student service projects and upcoming events.
Champion reported ticket counts for the homecoming dance and noted required policy waivers that affected revenue: 633 ASB tickets sold, 260 ID tickets sold and 121 guest tickets sold. She said some tickets were free under district policy (she cited House Bill 166084 (as stated in her remarks); those waivers reduced revenue by $740, and the district’s support helped keep ticket prices low). Champion also described a Ram Landing donation drive that collected clothes and toys for community distribution and said the freshman advisory led by Mrs. Whitfield collected the most items in a schoolwide drive.
The board thanked Champion for the slideshow and for representing student activities. Champion closed by listing upcoming events, including state softball sendoff, marching band competitions and auditions for the district musical.
