Boys & Girls Club of Little Falls reports program expansion, new KidStop sites and building upgrades

Deb Nevisis, representing the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota and the Little Falls Boys and Girls Club, briefed the Morrison County Board on Oct. 21 about program growth, facilities work and expanded services.
Nevisis said the club opened two KidStop sites this year (Lindbergh in June and Lincoln in September). Lindbergh is serving about 32 children (20 after school; 12 before school). Lincoln is serving about 57 children (35 after school; 22 before school). The KidStop program is fee-for-service; the club maintains a scholarship fund to ensure access for families in need, funded by local donors and United Way of Morrison County.
The club reported serving roughly 110 children per day at the main program during the summer and is hiring two new full-time positions for Little Falls. Facility investments include kitchen renovation work supported by a Main Street grant through the Initiative Foundation, HVAC and roof work, parking-lot improvements and other maintenance so the club can serve full meals on site rather than transporting food from the schools.
Commissioners praised the program’s community value and financial stewardship; there was no formal action requested or taken. Nevisis thanked Morrison County and local partners for prior support.
