Sequim — The City Council on Oct. 27 adopted a resolution establishing a grievance procedure for complaints related to Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded components of the Flora’s Acres project and for future CDBG projects.
Public Works Director Paul Busich told council that the Department of Commerce required either demonstration of an existing grievance process or adoption of one before the CDBG project could proceed; staff presented a draft resolution modeled on Commerce and grant templates.
Council approved the resolution without amendments. The procedure creates a stepwise process residents may use if they have concerns about CDBG‑funded work and fulfills the Department of Commerce requirement so the city can continue with procurement and construction steps for sidewalks, curb cuts, streetlights and storm infrastructure in the Flora’s Acres neighborhood.
