Commissioners approve a series of administrative items including permit transfer notice, IT policy and contract renewals

Minutes: Commissioners approved the Oct. 14 meeting minutes by voice vote (motion, second; passed 3-0).
Building permits: Staff recommended and the board approved issuing a 60-day termination notice to the City of Washington to end the interlocal arrangement for building permits; the county plans to move building-permit processing (including driveways and unsafe-building work) into the highway department. The commissioners said the highway department has staff who can take on the work and that training/cooperation with the city will aim for a seamless transition.
IT policy: Commissioners adopted a new policy requiring departments to route computer purchases and approvals through the county IT office (Dale) before claims are approved, to standardize assets and control costs; the motion passed unanimously.
Contracts and claims: The board renewed the county's residential new-construction contract with Murray & Murray at the existing monthly rate (motion approved 3-0). The board also approved a single‑signature authorization allowing the board president to sign claims for the Nov. 11 pay period when no meeting will be held.
Reassessment bids and REO amendment: Commissioners took two commercial/industrial reassessment bid proposals under advisement for staff review and voted to approve a six-month REO amendment for 200 North that includes a staged payment and completion deadlines (motion passed 3-0).
