County schedules Dec. 2 public hearing for aquifer protection-area code update to continue fee collection through 2046

Water Programs Administrator Ben Bridal told commissioners the county needs an administrative code update to allow continuation of aquifer protection-area fee collection after the area's renewal and expansion through 2046.
Bridal said the proposed code amendment would not change the existing fee amounts or the administrative process; it would simply revise the code so fee collection can continue for the additional term. He told the board the change requires a public hearing and proposed Dec. 2 as the hearing date; staff will bring a legislative item requesting that public-hearing date for the board to set.
Commissioners asked no substantive questions and accepted the proposal as an administrative code update. The briefing did not record a formal adoption vote; staff will present the legislative action to set the public hearing for board approval.
