Board approves SRO contract with City of Milton; half of cost tied to supplemental levy

District staff explained that roughly half of the district's contribution is covered by the district's supplemental levy and that the contract dates were the only change from the prior year. The district currently has two SROs: one based at the high school who also spends time at Purple Sage, and one based at the middle school who also serves the alternative school. Board members confirmed that security guards are separate staff positions funded from the general fund and that the proposed levy would add additional security staffing at the middle and high schools.
A motion to approve the SRO contract carried by voice vote recorded as "aye." The contract will proceed to the city for its approval as part of the intergovernmental arrangement.
