At Tuesday's meeting the Streator City Council approved several routine resolutions with minimal debate.
The council voted to authorize the city manager to enter a license agreement with Streetscapes (and Walgreens) for a mural panel at 517 East Main Street; one councilmember abstained because they serve as chair of Streetscapes and would sign the other half of the agreement.
The council also approved a resolution to renew membership in the Municipal Insurance Cooperative Agency (MIC) and approved amended bylaws for the pool. Staff explained the intergovernmental insurance pool helps local governments manage rising insurance costs; council recorded ayes on the renewal.
Finally, under a separate procedural motion council agreed to place resolutions on next week's agenda to purchase three parcels from the LaSalle County trustee for demolition and future disposition; the clerk recorded ayes on that procedural motion.
All of the above items were resolved by roll call votes or motions recorded by the clerk; financial details and final contracts will be returned to council as needed for formal authorization or execution.
