Commissioners confirmed a plaster workshop scheduled via Eventbrite for Nov. 15; registrations already on Eventbrite will be transferred to the new date and attendees who cannot make the date will be offered refunds. Deborah said she had contacted the instructor (from Wabash) and that the commission should plan for a minimum number of signups to cover mileage.
Members discussed publicity and distribution channels: the Perris Tribune, local radio, Logosport Reimagined's website and social accounts, and Indiana Landmarks' communications and Eventbrite listing. Commissioners asked for a confirmed date and a shareable flyer to publish across channels once the date is locked.
On event programming, commissioners reviewed a list of potential activities for a Hometown History holiday stroll in early December. Ideas included a scavenger-hunt style activity with QR codes and social-media selfie submissions, daily social-media clues, and local business participation. Commissioners asked members to identify four to five preferred activities from the distributed list and to return with selections at the Nov. 13 meeting so the event can be advertised before Thanksgiving.
Michigan City was mentioned as a canceled workshop site because of low registration; commissioners cited distance and instructor mileage as reasons for careful scheduling.
