Logansport RDC member Malcolm Gerald resigns; Price to become school representative, Jeff Todd expected to join

The Logansport Redevelopment Commission announced that board member Malcolm Gerald has submitted his resignation and will remain on the commission through the end of the year. "We have received a notice of, resignation by Malcolm. Mister Gerald has been a fantastic member, and we will he will be missed," the presiding official said during the meeting.

Commissioners discussed plans to keep John Michael Price involved after he moves outside city limits. Price is slated to become the commission's school representative, a non‑voting post recommended by the school board and appointed by the mayor’s office. The commission noted that "the school board will officially recommend John Michael Price" and that the mayor will make the formal appointment.

Members also said they expect Jeff Todd, who is employed with Cass County Title, to fill a separate seat on the commission. Commissioners described Todd's real‑estate and title‑work experience as useful for the RDC’s property transactions and oversight.

The chair and members emphasized Gerald and Price’s environmental and financial experience, which commissioners said has become more important as the RDC acquires properties for redevelopment. No formal appointment votes were recorded during the meeting; members said administrative steps remain, including the school board recommendation and a mayoral appointment.

The commission did not set dates for any interim appointment process; commissioners indicated Malcolm Gerald will remain through year‑end and that the school rep swap could occur in November.
