Motorola reports equipment delivery and geotechnical work; public‑safety radio completion still targeted for 2026

John Morgan, introduced as a Motorola project manager, said the firm had issued a letter of award to an A&E firm for the White Rock site and that the next steps include final engineering designs and the RFP process for a contractor. A Motorola representative said RF radio equipment was manufactured and staged in Elgin, Illinois and delivered to Motorola's Manchester, Tennessee warehouse in September; microwave components are being assembled and expected to arrive in Manchester on or before late December. Geotechnical studies for the final two sites (Buffalo and Avery) were underway at the time of the update.

Motorola said the team expects to continue toward a 2026 completion if site access and schedule remain on track.

Commissioners offered no substantive changes at the update; staff said they will follow up with the awarded A&E firm and the RFP schedule.
