The Worthington board voted to enter a formal partnership with SiteLogic to assess district facilities, catalog assets in the MySiteIQ platform and provide planning support for capital projects. Jeff Elstead, representing SiteLogic, told the board his firm would begin on-site assessments the following Thursday and expected to complete most initial work within about a week, with ongoing assessment through the late winter.
"We'll be meeting first to kind of go through a number of different things including how do we get access to buildings," Elstead said, adding that the firm catalogs assets for long-term monitoring and can identify equipment that should be ordered early to avoid tariffs or delays. He told the board SiteLogic charges a fee of 18.75% for projects identified and manages cost certainty by including typical contingencies in upfront pricing.
Separately, the board approved a motion to solicit bids for phases 2 and 3 of the Prairie Elementary roof replacement. Staff explained the district completed earlier phases and that the remaining work has an estimated cost of about $2.2 million. They noted the district expects $1.5 million in LTFM state funding toward the project and that the assigned fund balance would cover the remainder if needed. The board agreed to shift summer school from Prairie for one additional summer as needed to accommodate the work.
Both motions were approved by voice vote. Board members asked whether SiteLogic would emphasize the cafeteria serving area and space-use needs in early assessments; Elstead said assessment scope is prioritized by the district and the firm will gather staff and student perspectives as part of its facility-usage audit.
The board also heard references to contractors (Garland) used for roof bidding and that the district will coordinate scheduling to secure contractors amid statewide demand.
