The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) selection committee recommended Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) as the owner's representative for Project Nexus, and the City Council on Oct. 14 authorized negotiation of a professional services agreement (PSA) with the firm.
PCDC staff said the city’s RFQ process attracted six firms and that the committee — which included PCDC board members and city staff — scored submissions in two rounds. Staff reported that JLL’s proposal combined commercial brokerage resources, proprietary software tools and local market connections that set it ahead of competitors; scoring cited in the packet showed the top submission markedly above the next bidder on the committee’s rubric.
Council members urged JLL to appear in person at a future meeting so council could ask questions directly; the firm was not present at the council meeting. Council also asked that the draft PSA and statement of work be reviewed by city staff before PCDC board action and before the agreement returns to council for final approval. PCDC staff said the contract will then be brought back to the PCDC board and council for approval.
Action taken: Council approved the PCDC recommendation to select JLL and authorized the PCDC executive director to negotiate a PSA; council members conditioned support on city staff review of the PSA and a future council review of the final agreement.
