Fleet staff said IBS brings procurement and inventory management services to municipal fleets, leveraging a national purchasing network to improve parts pricing and reduce staff time spent ordering specialty parts. Fleet Manager described site visits to other municipalities and told council procurement had solicited multiple vendors and found no comparable alternative.
Council approved the participation addendum and authorized the city manager to execute the addendum on the city's behalf; the vote was 7-0.
Staff said the program will reduce workload for fleet technicians and centralize aftermarket-parts procurement while allowing the city to keep access to specialty vendors used for public-safety vehicles.
