Council visits American Mural Project; AMP staff outline exhibits, music series and community rentals

The Northwest Hills Council of Governments met at the American Mural Project (AMP) and heard from AMP staff about the site’s exhibitions and public programming. Olivia, representing AMP, told the council the facility displays “the largest indoor collaborative art project in the world” and said the mural features real workers the artists celebrated.
AMP said it will host a connected wall of manufacturing as part of an exhibit running through most of October, and staff noted that the manufacturing timeline will coincide with an upcoming manufacturing summit and other public programs. Olivia said the venue hosts a monthly piano series (every fourth Friday) and four to five larger concerts per year, and that the site is available for private rentals.
Rob Phillips, the council’s executive director, introduced AMP and noted the regional value of site-based cultural attractions. AMP staff said they track visitor geography informally and that most attendees are from the northwest corner of the state; specific visitor counts were “not in my mind currently,” Olivia said. The council thanked AMP for hosting the meeting and arranged a brief tour of the facility after the session.
