Staff reported a contractor estimate of approximately $14,099 (rounded in discussion to about $14,100—$15,000) to seal cracks on about eight blocks. The scope includes routing and sealing cracks; weed removal and loose material clearing were discussed as preparatory work.
Kelsey said the contractor is willing to work with the town on billing and phasing. Councilmembers agreed to identify which streets should be prioritized and to clear weeds and loose material before sealing. "If you're gonna do the ditches, the storm gauge does the cracks are bigger," one councilmember said, noting that drainage-heavy areas may require additional preparation.
Council agreed to have staff (Scott, Carrie) survey streets while doing other field duties and mark priority segments for the contractor. The town also discussed whether to extend concrete channels or blocks in some locations to reduce future edge erosion following sealing.
Next steps: staff to produce a prioritized street list, confirm pre-work (weed treatment/power-blast cleaning or burn where appropriate), and return with a final scope and schedule for the council to authorize work.
