The Michigan House adopted House Resolution 199, declaring October 2025 as Health Literacy Month in the state.

Representative Linteen presented the resolution and stressed that health literacy is vital to helping residents find, understand and use information to make health decisions. Linteen cited the American Medical Association and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention statistics in explaining the resolution’s purpose, saying that limited health literacy is a strong predictor of poor health outcomes.

The question was put to the chamber and the resolution was adopted by voice vote.
