City staff presented a conditional use permit and site development plan (Bill No. 6194, first reading) for Firebirds Wood Fired Grill at 10590 Old Olive Boulevard in the Creve Coeur Pavilion Shopping Center. Jason Jagie, director of community development, said the proposal uses the former California Pizza Kitchen space and would add a covered patio on the south end along with landscaping and façade updates.
Jagie described the project materials and renderings and said planning staff recommended approval subject to ordinance conditions. He told council that permit review typically takes a couple of months and construction would likely extend into the following year; "I would imagine maybe next summer or maybe even a little bit later than that," Jagie said.
Council members expressed support for the outdoor patio and noted the site’s favorable location. Because this was a first reading, no final action was taken; staff will return with a subsequent reading and final vote.
