The program covers aerodynamics, aerospace navigation, airport operations and FAA regulations. Trustees noted that Keegan and Grace hold drone pilot licenses and that the program plans to expand airport opportunities and drone systems work.
Business Advisory Council and mentorships: Trustees summarized a session on the Young Professionals Academy (YPA) and co‑op programs. Presenters discussed how the district can partner with businesses to offer short‑term mentorships rather than multi‑month internships to better match student availability. The council emphasized a need for clearer, industry‑specific partnership blueprints, guest speakers, and mechanisms to sustain partnerships when business contacts change. Mentorships aim to teach resumes, elevator pitches, LinkedIn setup and resilience when placements do not work out; companies and students complete pre‑ and post‑surveys to measure outcomes.
Student representative: Student representative Azeal offered school updates, urged families to vote on Nov. 4, listed upcoming parent‑teacher conferences and winter sports meetings, called out community events (trick or treat, veteran's drive, military‑story event at Scioto on Nov. 6), and noted pathway events that connected students with postsecondary and employer partners including Bowling Green State University.
