Board renews recorder tech fee and approves cloud search and maintenance contract

The Franklin County Recorder’s Office requested renewal of a $4 allocation from base recording fees to the Recorder’s Technology Fund for 2026 and provided revenue and allocation estimates. The office estimated 2026 recording revenues of $8.8 million, half of which they said is allocated to the Bridals (Bridal) Housing Trust Fund and the remainder to recorder operations; of the recorder allocation, the office estimated $525,000 would fund the recorder’s technology program.
The recorder also presented a proposed contract modification with a vendor to add a cloud-based public search application and a 5-year maintenance renewal for the County Fusion records management system. The proposed maintenance cost was described as $121,765.85 in 2026 with 2% annual increases through 2030; the office said renewing maintenance avoids a likely $500,000 implementation and conversion cost for a new system.
Both resolutions (77325 for the technology fund set-aside and 77425 for the contract modification and maintenance) were moved, seconded and adopted by the board.
