The Fort Worth City Council on Oct. 28 approved a series of administrative items, appointments and miscellaneous M&C items in a series of mostly uncontested votes.
Appointments approved included Andy Bearden to the City Plan Commission for a partial term effective Oct. 28, 2025 through Oct. 1, 2026. The council also approved an appointment to the Shawana Washington Library Advisory Board (partial term ending Oct. 1, 2026); the appointee's name was not read into the record during the meeting. The council recognized Chief Raymond Hill as interim leader of the fire department and offered congratulations; Hill was not present.
Council closed a public hearing on M&C 25-0995 and later approved multiple M&C items, including a revised M&C 25-0975. For many of these items the meeting transcript records only the motion, a second and the clerical statement "motion carries," without a roll-call vote read into the record on the transcript.
Actions taken on the record (selected items cited in the transcript):
- M&C 25-5525: Approved appointment of Andy Bearden to the City Plan Commission (partial term 10/28/2025–10/01/2026). - M&C 25-5554: Approved an appointment to the Shawana Washington Library Advisory Board (appointee name not specified in the transcript). - M&C (item referencing Chief Raymond Hill): Motion carried; council offered thanks and congratulations to Raymond Hill for interim fire leadership. - M&C 25-0995: Public hearing closed; motion carried to approve related action. - M&C 25-0975 (revised): Motion carried to approve the revised item.
Where the transcript did not read the appointee name or a roll-call tally, the meeting minutes and the City Secretary's office were noted as the location for original applications, resumes, and official records.
Several other M&C appointment items (25-5551, 25-5526, 25-5535, 25-5517 and others listed on the agenda) were taken and approved in sequence; in each case the transcript records the motion, a second and the chair's announcement that the motion carries.
