Angelica, a representative of the San Gabriel–Lower LA Rivers and Mountains Conservancy (RMC), addressed the planning commission in public comment to highlight funding opportunities and technical support for river-adjacent projects. She said the RMC can support cities pursuing multi-benefit corridors, green infrastructure to reduce flooding and improve air quality, safe park access, habitat and recreation improvements, and that state funding is available for such projects.
Angelica said the RMC would welcome the opportunity to meet with city staff, provide resources and letters of support for projects and noted she has attended prior meetings that were canceled. The chair accepted Angelica’s business card for follow-up and noted the commission and staff could arrange a future meeting or read a statement into the record at a subsequent meeting.
