Hennepin County approves DHS contract amendment to extend refugee services to Dec. 31, 2025

Hennepin County commissioners on Oct. 14 approved an immediate‑approval amendment to an agreement with the Minnesota Department of Human Services to continue focused services for refugee families participating in the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP).
County staff said the amendment extends the contract through Dec. 31, 2025, and increases the receivable by just under $90,000 for a new total receivable amount of $1,245,000. Louella Kofer, human services senior department administrator, was available to answer questions and staff indicated the item was brought as an immediate approval because of timing constraints from DHS.
The amendment was approved by voice vote without recorded roll call.
