County app goes live; commissioners hear update on parks grant for rubberized mulch

Appling County staff told commissioners the county’s mobile app is live in app stores but has not yet been actively promoted, and that the county is preparing a grant application for rubberized mulch at county parks.

A staff member said the app “is actually live. It's not to the point where it's promoting it out yet,” and added that meeting minutes and other county information are already preloaded. The presenter said access to editing will be provided after a meeting with the app vendor and that a wider promotion will follow once staff has editing access.

Separately, a commissioner said they were working with county staff on a parks grant application to fund rubberized mulch and planned to finish the application promptly to meet grant timelines.

No formal vote was required or taken on either item during the meeting; both items were informational updates and staff were asked to proceed.
