Resident urges Isanti County not to cut library funding during public comment

During the public comment period Rebecca Waller of 815 Park Brook Road NW, Isanti, told the board she was concerned the county was cutting funding for libraries. "The library is a central location for every walk of life. It is free," Waller said, noting meeting rooms, programming and services for all ages. She said the library had been essential to her when she moved to the area and asked the board to provide at least a "bare minimum" of funding and avoid additional cuts.
The board did not take immediate action during public comment; the comment was recorded and the chair said staff would work with the department to address the concern.
