Isanti County commissioners approved contracts for legal services and authorized HR contract signings during the Oct. 7 meeting.
Amanda (county staff) explained the county solicited bids after a circuit-court appointment created a vacancy in one contract; staff recommended a one-year primary contract with Bryce Norton Law and a one-year secondary contract with Donegan Law Office, each with options to renew for up to two additional years. Commissioners approved the contracts unanimously.
On employee benefits, the HR representative asked the board to authorize the HR director to execute necessary 2026 employee-benefits contracts. The HR director noted most vendor relationships auto-roll to the next year, but a one-year Cobra contract would require signature and a discontinuation of Proximal and Colonial products related to paid-family-medical-leave changes. Commissioners authorized the signature authority.
Both items were approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
