Rice County proclaims November 2025 as Operation Green Light for Veterans

Susie (veterans services/staff) presented the proclamation and read the declaration into the record, citing national concerns about transition-related stress and elevated suicide risk during the first year after military service and referencing county and national veterans organizations. The proclamation encourages display of green lights at homes and businesses during November 2025 to salute transitioning service members.
The board moved, seconded and approved the proclamation by voice vote. Several commissioners expressed appreciation for veterans present in the audience and thanked them for their service.
