Gwen, county finance staff, presented the third‑quarter financial report to the board, reviewing the county’s investment ladder, revenues, expenditures and cash‑flow by fund through Sept. 30.
She said the county holds about $14 million in certificates of deposit with favorable average yields and roughly $5.8 million in long‑term investments; total interest earned Jan.–Sept. was reported as about $1.165 million. Year‑to‑date total revenues across all funds were presented and broken down by major categories (taxes, intergovernmental aid, federal and state grants, charges for services and investment earnings). Road and bridge, general revenue and human services were the largest revenue and expenditure funds. Year‑to‑date total expenditures were about $34.9 million.
Gwen said her month‑by‑month reporting compares budget to first, second and third quarters and that, as of the report, no fund was over budget in total; she is monitoring account‑line variances and noted some larger capital projects pushed later in the year. The report includes detailed fund‑by‑fund account listings and cash‑flow balances through Sept. 30.
Commissioners thanked Gwen for reorganizing the presentation and said the graphics and layout improved accessibility. No action was required of the board based on the report.
