The consent agenda — which included routine personnel actions, minutes, several policy updates and a resolution implementing a board stipend change — was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The board then held a separate roll-call vote on a resolution supporting ballot initiative 7A, which several directors described as a local funding proposal for early childhood services. Director Ramirez declared a conflict of interest and abstained; the resolution passed by recorded vote.
Board members later voted to approve the district UIP and the Glenwood Springs Elementary School UIP after presentations and brief discussion. The Glenwood Springs presentation was delivered by Principal Laura Smith and Assistant Principal Courtney Bernal, who described school priorities including early literacy, data-team routines and family advisory board participation.
Before adjourning to executive session, the board unanimously approved a motion to move into executive session under Colorado Revised Statutes section 24-6-402(4)(f) to discuss personnel matters related to the superintendent's annual review.
