The board also discussed a $10,000 incentive the city offered tied to meeting a December 1 completion milestone, which would raise the final potential payoff to $197,835 if the contractor qualifies for the incentive.
City staff and the engineer explained project details that include shortening driveway approaches (the approaches were reduced from wider dimensions to a 26-foot concrete width) and upsizing an existing waterline so it would not be disturbed by the sidewalk work. Public works staff also said the project diminished localized ponding on Jackson Street after recent drainage improvements.
The board passed a resolution to amend the 2025 budget to move reserve funds into the general fund to pay for the sidewalks, then passed the ordinance authorizing the mayor to sign the contract with AT Urban. Both actions passed by roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
