Planning staff: upcoming CUPs, automotive dealer review and car-lot paving follow-up

Staff reported that multiple items rolled from the last Board of Aldermen meeting — including a CUP for a property on East Osage (formerly Big G) and another for the Nest property on West Osage — are awaiting drafted ordinances and will appear on a subsequent meeting agenda. A short-term rental CUP application referenced previously was withdrawn by the applicant and did not proceed.
The zoning officer said another CUP for a lot on West Osage will be scheduled for the commission’s November meeting (the second meeting of the month). Staff also said an automotive dealer that handles snowplows is likely to need a CUP because automotive uses in Pacific typically require conditional-use review.
On enforcement and code-compliance, staff reported that a commercial car lot must still pave its parking area and complete required water and sewer connections. The project had earlier been under a stop-work order; staff said the fire marshal’s conditions have been satisfied and the project is moving forward, but the parking/paving requirement remains outstanding and staff will continue to monitor completion.
No formal action was taken on these updates; staff asked the commission to note upcoming applications and to expect follow-up on the car-lot paving and utility completion.
