At the Nov. 3 meeting the county attorney asked the board to enter closed session under North Carolina General Statute §143-318.11(a)(3) to consult with counsel and preserve the attorney-client privilege. The attorney said the discussion would include a demand letter the county received from the Alamance News on Aug. 18, 2025.
The board voted to enter closed session; no board action was announced upon returning to open session.
The motion was made and seconded on the record in open session; the attorney advised the board during the closed session and the chair announced no further action would follow in open session.
