Tollway, IDOT sign intergovernmental agreement framework for a future commingled road

General Counsel Kathleen presented an intergovernmental agreement on Oct. 22 between the Illinois Tollway and the Illinois Department of Transportation to memorialize future maintenance and jurisdictional responsibilities for what staff described as a future commingled portion of I‑9 and Illinois Route 19. Kathleen said the road is not built yet and the IGA records the responsibilities each agency will have once the corridor is constructed.
The committee moved and seconded placement of the legal item on the October board agenda and approved placement without substantive questions from directors.
