Engineering staff presented four professional engineering services contract award recommendations on Oct. 22. The items were taken as a group by the committee and recommended for placement on the board agenda.
Recommended awards included: Illinois Construction and Environmental Consulting for construction management services on the new I‑490 corridor between Foster and Devon in the amount of $5,550,000; GFT Infrastructure Inc. for bridge reconstruction design on the Canadian National Railroad over the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I‑88) for $7,270,899.60; Millhouse Engineering & Construction Inc. for plaza improvement design work on the Jane Addams (I‑90) and Reagan Memorial (I‑88) Tollways for $2,493,027.65; and Delta Engineering Group for an on-call ITS design services contract for $3,000,000.
Staff noted each firm committed to exceed DBE and veteran goals where applicable and cited partnering/mentor-protege arrangements (for example, SWE Solutions participating in reverse partnering arrangements). The committee consolidated consideration of items 3 through 6 and approved placement of the group on the October board agenda.
