Tollway committees recommend CDW laptop purchase and SDI Presence SOC renewal for board approval

Mike Shea, Chief Information Officer, told the Technology & Operations Committee on Oct. 22 that the information technology department recommends two actions: an award to CDW Government LLC under an Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology master contract to supply 200 laptops, 100 docking stations, 600 monitors and related accessories with three years of maintenance (contract 250151; amount not to exceed $442,141), and a one-year renewal of the Tollway's security operations center (SOC) services with SDI Presence LLC (contract 230044R; amount not to exceed $1,032,794.50).
Shea said the SOC provides continuous 24/7 monitoring and advisory services that the Tollway relies on to detect and respond to cyber risks and that maintaining the SOC is a requirement for the agency's cybersecurity insurance. He added the IT department is evaluating alternatives and intends to issue a bid in 2026 for replacement services. The committee voted to place both items on the October board agenda; both subsequently passed at the board meeting. At the board roll-call on the CDW item, the record shows 6 yays, 0 nays and 1 recusal.
No subcontracting opportunities were reported for the CDW award and staff said CDW indicated there were no subcontracting opportunities under the referenced master contract. SDI Presence was reported to meet or exceed BEP and veteran goal commitments in its procurement review.
