Olive Crossing development advances; Courtyard Marriott to appear before planning commission

City staff updated the Olivette City Council on progress at Olive Crossing during the Oct. 14 meeting, reporting completed storefront framing, parking lot paving and permitting activity for incoming tenants.
The city manager said Lot 3 has received building permits for Paris Baguette and the Brass Tap; store frames are in place, glass installation is underway, and the parking lot has been asphalted and striped. "Lot 3 is moving along," the city manager said.
Lot 5 remains under negotiation with a potential restaurant tenant, and Lot 6 is proposed as a Courtyard Marriott hotel. The hotel application will be on the Planning & Community Design Commission (PCDC) agenda for initial review; staff noted the PCDC would ask questions but was not expected to take action at the initial review.
Staff also reported Lot 1 and Lot 2 (Aldi and an apartment development called The Clover) are complete. The manager encouraged interested residents to review PCDC materials online or attend the commission meeting.
The update included other municipal notices: two open pension board seats, public works coordination for a river cleanup (Trash Bash on Oct. 20), community events and an ongoing food drive in partnership with the Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry.
