He said law enforcement made entry at a home off Spring Place Road and found a man deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound; the investigation was ongoing.
Commissioners who spoke called the day "tragic" and praised multijurisdictional response. "It was a tragic day in our community," Commissioner Slater said. Commissioner Rogers thanked the Cleveland and county police, fire departments and EMS for their work.
The commission did not take formal action related to the shooting at the meeting. No additional operational details or suspect identification were provided during the session; officials said more questions remain and the investigation continues.
